Kyocera Corporation (京セラ 株式会社 Kyōsera Kabushiki-gaisha?) Adalah produsen multinasional yang berbasis di Kyoto, Jepang. Ini didirikan sebagai Kyoto Keramik Co, Ltd (京都 セラミック 株式会社 Kyoto Kabushiki-gaisha Seramikku?) Pada tahun 1959 oleh Kazuo Inamori dan diubah namanya pada tahun 1982. Perusahaan telah melakukan diversifikasi teknologi pendiri dalam bahan keramik melalui pengembangan internal serta merger dan akuisisi strategis. Ini memproduksi industri keramik, sistem pembangkit tenaga surya, peralatan telekomunikasi, peralatan kantor dokumen imaging, komponen elektronik, paket semikonduktor, alat pemotong, dan komponen untuk sistem implan medis dan gigi.

Sejarah

Produk asli Kyocera adalah isolator keramik dikenal sebagai “kelcima” untuk digunakan dalam tabung gambar televisi. Perusahaan cepat beradaptasi teknologi untuk menghasilkan memperluas jangkauan komponen keramik untuk aplikasi elektronik dan struktural. Pada tahun 1960, sebagai program ruang angkasa NASA, kelahiran Silicon Valley dan kemajuan teknologi komputer menciptakan permintaan untuk sirkuit semikonduktor terintegrasi (IC), Kyocera mengembangkan paket semikonduktor keramik yang tetap di antara lini produk intinya hari ini.

Pada pertengahan 1970-an, Kyocera mulai memperluas teknologi material untuk menghasilkan beragam produk keramik diterapkan, termasuk modul fotovoltaik surya; gigi dan biokompatibel bersama-pengganti sistem; alat pemotong industri; keramik konsumen, seperti keramik-berbilah pisau dapur dan keramik-tip pena ballpoint, dan laboratorium-tumbuh batu permata, termasuk rubi, zamrud, safir, opal, alexandrites dan padparadschahs.

Perusahaan mengakuisisi manufaktur peralatan elektronik dan teknologi komunikasi radio pada tahun 1979 melalui investasi dalam Cybernet Electronics Corp, yang tergabung dalam Kyocera pada tahun 1982. Tak lama kemudian, Kyocera memperkenalkan salah satu portabel pertama, bertenaga baterai komputer laptop, dijual di AS sebagai Model, Tandy 100 yang menampilkan sebuah layar LCD dan telepon-modem kemampuan transfer data.

Kyocera diperoleh teknologi optik dengan mengakuisisi Yashica Co, Ltd pada tahun 1983, bersamaan dengan perjanjian lisensi sebelum Yashica dengan Carl Zeiss, dan film diproduksi dan kamera digital di bawah Kyocera, Yashica dan nama dagang CONTAX sampai tahun 2005, ketika perusahaan dihentikan film yang semua dan kamera digital produksi.

Pada 1980-an, Kyocera dipasarkan komponen audio, seperti CD player, receiver, turntable, dan deck kaset. Ini menampilkan elemen unik, termasuk Kyocera keramik berbasis platform, dan dicari oleh kolektor untuk hari ini. Memperluas penjualan produk photovoltaic energi surya membawa perusahaan untuk membuat Kyocera Solar Corp di Jepang pada tahun 1996, dan Kyocera Solar, Inc di Amerika Serikat pada 1999.

Pada bulan Januari 2000, Kyocera Mita mengakuisisi produsen mesin fotokopi Industrial Co, Ltd, dan menciptakan Kyocera Mita Corporation, yang berkantor pusat di Osaka, Jepang, dengan anak perusahaan di lebih dari 25 negara.

Juga pada tahun 2000, Kyocera mengakuisisi operasi manufaktur ponsel dari QUALCOMM Incorporated untuk membentuk Kyocera Wireless Corp Pada tahun 2003, Kyocera Wireless Corp didirikan Kyocera Wireless Indonesia (KWI), anak perusahaan ponsel di Bangalore. KWI telah membentuk aliansi dengan beberapa pemain terkemuka yang menyediakan layanan CDMA di India.

Pada tahun 2008, Kyocera menyelesaikan merger dengan Sanyo Electric Co, Ltd (Sanyo), memperoleh ponsel global Sanyo bisnis mobile dan operasi yang terkait di Jepang, Amerika Serikat, dan Kanada.

Pada April 2009, Kyocera mengumumkan ponsel EOS, dengan OLED dan didukung oleh energi kinetik dari pengguna. Prototipe ini diresmikan pada CTIA. Ponsel ini juga memiliki desain lipat yang mampu morphing menjadi berbagai bentuk .

Sel surya

Kyocera Corporation telah mengumumkan rencana untuk meningkatkan produksi silikon multicrystalline sel surya untuk 650 megawatt (MW) per tahun pada 31 Maret 2012, lebih dari dua kali lipat output dari 2.008 MW 290. Perusahaan akan memperkuat basis produksi di Jepang, Meksiko, Eropa dan China, investasi sekitar ¥ 50000000000 sampai dengan 31 Maret 2012 sebagai bagian dari ekspansi. Melalui peningkatan produksi, Kyocera terlihat untuk memenuhi meningkatnya permintaan di seluruh dunia untuk sel surya.
Media telah melaporkan bahwa Kyocera panel surya akan menjadi pilihan yang tersedia pada Toyota Prius baru.

Kyocera Solar  mengatakan bahwa ia akan mulai manufaktur modul surya di San Diego, California, untuk memenuhi permintaan pasar AS untuk energi bersih. Perusahaan ini bertujuan untuk kapasitas produksi global 1GW sel surya per tahun pada bulan Maret 2013.

Keramik Advanced hati-hati direkayasa bahan di mana komposisi kimia telah tepat disesuaikan menggunakan bedak mentah halus atau disintesis, dengan metode baik dikendalikan pembentukan dan sintering.

Telepon satelit

Di masa lalu, Kyocera diproduksi telepon satelit Iridium untuk jaringan. Tiga handset yang dirilis pada tahun 1999 termasuk satu dengan docking station yang tidak biasa yang berisi transceiver dan antena Iridium, serta pager untuk jaringan Iridium.
Ponsel

Kyocera mengakuisisi bisnis terminal AS komunikasi digital perusahaan teknologi Qualcomm pada bulan Februari 2000, [9] dan menjadi pemasok utama dari handset mobile. Pada tahun 2008, Kyocera juga mengambil alih bisnis handset Sanyo. Para Kyocera Terminal Divisi terletak di San Diego.

Kyocera Mita Perusahaan memproduksi berbagai macam printer, MFP (juga dipasarkan dengan nama Copystar), dan toner yang dijual di seluruh Eropa, Timur Tengah, Afrika, Asia, Australia dan Amerika.
Sepakbola sponsor

Perusahaan ini sedang sponsor kaos dari klub sepak bola di Kyoto Sanga FC J-League (kampung timnya, di sini kata-kata “Kyocera” ditulis dalam bahasa Jepang, di tempat lain adalah logo Latinized).

Kyocera juga mensponsori stadion untuk Borussia Mönchengladbach di Bundesliga, stadion untuk Atletico Paranaense di Brazil, stadion untuk ADO Den Haag di Belanda, dan lencana yang muncul di bagian belakang kemeja Atlético Madrid.
